Anne-lise Bure

Anne-Lise Bure – was born in East Africa. She is a social activist and adult educator and managing director of The Novalis Ubuntu Institute in Cape Town South Africa, with close to 30 years experience working in the sector of Civil Society. She carries and lives a pioneering vision.

Her passion is to introduce new gateways and possibilities for building healthy social communities, to use Holistic education to call forth the fullest potential unique to each person. ‘I love putting the Heart back into teaching and learning, and encouraging an experience that gives opportunity to become whole people – each unique, and mastering a life destiny.’

Anne-Lise’s dream is that we may all live in Healthy, Happy and Abundant Communities – where children are safe and revered as living ‘beings’ causing a Bright Future for everyone. She sees Africa as a thriving continent in which the people can demonstrate ‘Ubuntu’ in a real, fair and just manner to the betterment of the whole. (Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning ‘humanity to others’. It also means ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’.

Anne’Lise’s vision of How I Would Change the World:
“I am committed to continue supporting intergenerational change-makers locally and globally.”

South Africa has been rated as the most unequal country in the world, with a historical landscape of political engineered separation (apartheid) and socio-economic depravation for the vast majority of its population. This opens the biggest opportunity to awaken our True Collective Potential as participants in a Global Unity. Novalis Institute has been an excellent vehicle for birthing an awakening consciousness.

The Novalis Ubuntu Institute in Cape Town, South Africa is a non-profit organization committed to acknowledging, honouring and nurturing the unique gifts, talents and inner resources of each individual. Our Holistic Adult Education Programme combines Steiner education principles with Ubuntu, the universal spiritual values embraced in African philosophy. www.novalis.org.za

“A Healthy Social Life is found,
when in the mirror of each person
The Whole Community finds its reflection.
And when in the Community
The virtue of each one is alive.”

– Rudolf Steiner.

The Novalis Ubuntu Institute inspires hope in teachers, educators, caregivers and youth leaders by activating the rich inner life brought through holistic learning programmes. Here we inspire and encourage Ubuntu values that become building blocks for social cohesion seeded by the many thought leaders that have gone before and made famous by Nelson Mandela.

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. Nelson Mandela.
